Scott Kongable is the president of Crystal Group. He joined the company in 1998 as the Director of Engineering, becoming the president in February 2003. In this capacity he is responsible for the general supervision and control of the company's business and affairs. Kongable holds Bachelor of Science degrees in mathematics and statistics from Iowa State University and a Masters in Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University. Prior to joining Crystal Group, Kongable spent ten years in various engineering functions with Rockwell-Collins; most recently as a project engineer in their military Global Positioning System business area. Kongable is an American Society of Quality Control Certified Reliability Engineer and Certified Quality Engineer. In addition, he is a member of the Project Management Institute as well as the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association.

Jim Shaw joined Crystal Group in January 2006 as Vice President of Engineering. Jim has responsibility for guiding the Engineering and Marketing departments and is the leading member of the technology planning team. He also oversees the development and implementation of new Crystal Group products and product enhancements. Jim’s innovative design prowess led to the birth of the rugged series (RS) chassis for the military market. During Jim’s tenure at Crystal Group the company has expanded its product lines into storage, displays, and rugged switches. Jim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from IowaStateUniversity and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Iowa. Prior to joining Crystal Group, Jim held a senior management position in engineering at Rockwell Collins, located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. During his time there, he was honored as one of Rockwell Collins’ Engineer of the Year winners for his work in high performance electronics packaging. He also holds eight international patents.

Michael Kruger started with Crystal Group as a Senior Industrial Engineer in January of 2007. He was promoted to Operations Manager in November 2007 and VP of Operations in January 2009. Mike is responsible for directing all manufacturing operations for a line of over 35 products. He is also responsible for maintaining product quality standards and Crystal's manufacturing cost reduction initiative. Mike oversees Crystal Group's Operations staff as well as the 40,000 square foot manufacturing facility located at company headquarters. Mike is a licensed electrician. He holds a degree in Electronic Engineering Technology from Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Mike attends the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa, majoring in Electro-Mechanical Systems. His home town is Vinton, Iowa.

Britni Gookin joined Crystal Group as Director of Finance in August 2007. She was promoted to VP of Finance in November 2010. Britni directs the overall financial plans and accounting practices of Crystal Group. She oversees financial and accounting system controls and standards and ensure timely financial policies and analysis. Gookin also interprets financial data and recommends changes to improve systems and financial performance. Gookin holds a B.A. and M.B.A of Accounting from the University of Northern Iowa and is a Certified Public Accountant. She was previously employed at Deloitte & Touche as a Senior Auditor.

Chad Hutchinson joined Crystal Group in August 2011 as Senior Engineering Manager. Chad is responsible for assigning resources within the Engineering department; coaching; mentoring; and project management for select programs. Hutchinson holds a BSEE degree from Iowa State University and a Master's Degree in Engineering Management from Old Dominion University. He is certified in Nuclear Reactor Engineering by Bettis Reactor Engineering School. He is a former Naval Officer out of NAVSEA on CVN78 and has been working in the nuclear industry private sector for 10 years. Chad was previously employed at Duane Arnold Energy Center, Palo, IA.

Troy Jensen began his career at Crystal Group in July of 1994 as a member of the Inventory Department. He was promoted to Materials Manager in June 2007. Troy oversees all inventory and shipping transactions for Crystal Group and leads the material handling team to assure efficient flow of material in and out of the company. Prior to joining Crystal Group, Troy was in the US Naval Reserves and spent two years active duty at Naval Undersea Warfare Engineering Station (NUWES) in Keyport, Washington. Upon his EOS, he returned to Iowa, working for Quaker Oats for a time. Troy holds an Associates Degree from Kirkwood Community College.

Jerry Sherman is both the Purchasing Manager and Quality Manager for Crystal Group. He joined Crystal Group in July 2006 with thirty 30 years of manufacturing and operations experience. As Purchasing Manager, Jerry is responsible for management of purchasing activities to assure quality parts and materials and on-time delivery. Additionally, as Quality Manager, he is responsible for maintaining the ISO Quality system for the company and to assure continuous improvements and customer satisfaction. Prior to joining Crystal Group, Jerry served as a Sr. Quality Engineer at Rockwell Collins; as Test Services Manager and Operations Manager for Final Build & Test at Norand Corporation; and as Sr. Buyer for Moore International. Jerry has also held positions as a Materials and Traffic Manager and Sales Executive. Jerry is a certified TQM trainer/facilitator. He has obtained a degree in Electronic Engineering from Kirkwood Community College. Jerry attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids, majoring in Accounting.
