In environments where performance, ruggedness, reliability and mega-storage are imperative, the RSS639 JBOD 6U rugged storage system is an ideal fit. This 6U NAS/DAS capable system was designed for shipboard, airborne, and land-based applications. The RSS639 offers extended capability with shock/vibe rating of 2 GRMS in combined wheeled vehicle and aircraft profiles and a temperature range of –15oC up to 55oC (5 to131oF).

Crystal Group's RSS639 offers 39 top-loading, hot-swappable 2.5"/3.5" SAS/SATA drives, up to 2TB per drive; 150QD Jonathan rails (allow locking out of rack); and an N+1 redundant AC power supply which allows the system to operate through 2 power module failures. The RSS639 offers high bandwidth connectivity through two SAS x4 (SFF-8088) inputs with 12Gbps bandwidth each.

The RSS639 system serves as a 78TB mass storage device that can be used in conjunction with an RS112 or RS255 RAID head unit. When paired with an RS series RAID head unit, the system can be operated in following RAID modes: 50, 60, JBOD or multiple arrays of 1, 1E, 5, 5EE, 6 or 10. Multiple RSS639 storage systems can be attached to a single RS255 RAID head.

The chassis side walls of the RSS639 are assembled using milled HS Aircraft Aluminum and internal support structures, allowing the system to operate under extreme conditions. The thicker aluminum construction is designed to limit weight, improve thermal conductivity, improve vibration performance, and enhance electrical conductivity. The RSS639 also utilizes reliable hardware solutions specifically designed to meet the users' operational environment. Crystal Group's best in class RSS products are produced with the end user in mind. The growing number of requirements in military and industrial communities requires solutions capable of operating in some of the most challenging environments.

The RSS639 is designed and being tested to meet MIL-STDs 810F, 167-1, 461E, and 901D requirements. As always, each Crystal storage system comes with a standard three-year warranty. On-site, next day and extended warranties are available. Configuration Management is also available upon request.
