What is the MIL-STD-167-1?
It is an equipment testing standard approved by the Naval Sea Systems Command, Department of the Navy, and is available for use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense. It establishes requirements and acceptance criteria for:
- Environmental vibration testing of shipboard equipment.
- Balancing shipboard rotating equipment subjected to internally induced vibration during operation.
MIL-STD-167-1A, environmental vibration testing, and MIL-S-901D, equipment shock testing, provide complementary requirements for the survivability of shipboard equipment.
