Hiawatha, Iowa, June 10, 2020 – Crystal Group, Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of rugged computer hardware, is honored to announce its two recipients of the Crystal Group Innovation Scholarship for 2020. Annabelle Beifus is a junior accounting major at Brigham Young University, and Tatem Rios is a junior studying chemical engineering and computer science at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.

2020 Innovation Scholarship Recipients
Annabelle Beifuss is working towards her Bachelor of Science in Accounting at BYU. After graduating top of her class as valedictorian in 2016 from Rio Mesa High school in Oxnard, California. Annabelle served a fulltime mission as a representative of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Brazil where she learned to speak fluent Portuguese. Annabelle also served as project manager for an internship team at Accelerum Advisors. During her college career, she has been invited to join the Golden Key International Honor Society, participated in BYU’s Accounting Society, and maintained a 4.00 GPA. She was recently accepted to BYU’s Marriot School of Accountancy.
Tatem Rios is a junior majoring in chemical engineering and minoring in computer science at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. At the age of 16, she became a fulltime college student at Inver Hills Community College in Inver Grove Heights, MN. She served as president of the Engineering Club and vice president of scholarship of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She graduated with honors with Associate of Science degrees in Engineering Fundamentals and Chemistry. Tatem is currently working an engineering co-op at SkyWater Technology, a semiconductor chip manufacturer. After graduating, she plans to pursue a master’s degree in computer or data science and hopes to use her chemical engineering and computer science knowledge to develop new innovative technologies.
Crystal Group Innovation Scholarship
The Crystal Group Innovation Scholarship recognizes the academic accomplishments, leadership and participation in both school and community activities of fulltime students pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business, Engineering, or related major. Scholarship recipients receive a one-time $1,000 scholarship payable directly to the institution in which they are enrolled.
