Crystal Group Awards Two Students with Innovation Scholarship

Hiawatha, Iowa, USA – Crystal Group Inc., a trusted manufacturer of rugged commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) custom-developed computers, displays, switches, and storage devices, announced today the two recipients of the Crystal Group Innovation Scholarship.

The Crystal Group Innovation Scholarship is awarded annually to two full-time students pursuing an undergraduate degree within a qualified engineering or business related program. An award of $1,000 each will be put towards their education at the institution in which they are enrolled.

 

Lee Gill is a senior at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, with a concentration in power and energy systems. His passion for academic research has driven him to continue his education in pursuit of Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering.  At the University of Illinois, Lee is the Office Administrator of their Engineering Council. Lee’s “ultimate goal is to contribute to the improvement of sustainable energy technologies in power engineering.”

Mariah Knowles is a sophomore at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida who is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. In the upcoming year, Mariah plans to seek an internship in personal finance planning.  At Nova Southeastern University she is the President of the C.H.E.E.S.E. Club, an organization that seeks to assist high school freshmen transitioning into high school, and is the Service Committee Chair for a leadership program known as Razor’s Edge. Upon graduation, Mariah’s goal is to work in the field of ministry.
